The fixture computer at the Northampton and District Youth Alliance League threw up an interesting one for us last Saturday, pitting our U8s Sky Blue team at home against our U8s Maroon team. (Or was it the other way round? We can’t quite be sure).
Both teams are new to the club this year, having grown out of our wonderful Wednesday training group. While they have been really enjoying all their Saturday morning league games, this one was a bit special , and with all the parents obviously knowing all the children, it led to the most wonderful atmosphere you can imagine, with support and encouragement for all children from all parties. And goals galore, too!!
A number of massive “thank yous” are needed. First to Amy, Kev, Dave and Tim – our wonderful coaches – for the work they’re doing with each team. Next to Russell, another parent who took over as referee. Tim – again – for organising and producing food for after the game and to our chairman and sponsor, Barrie. Although he couldn’t be present, he was represented by the wonderful kits his company, Myriad Associates, have so kindly provided to the club.
