The Sunday side finally got back on track this week away at Barlestone with a full strength squad.
Welford came out of the blocks quickly with a very early strike by new signing Kye Oster; a low drive in the bottom right hand corner giving Welford the lead after just five minutes.
Welford was well in control and playing great football but Barlestone levelled just before the break when a cross-shot found its way past debutant goalkeeper Todd.
Welford had confidence that if they started the second half with the same intensity as the first they could go on to win the game and so it proved. The second goal came through Richard Coulter from a corner he bulleted past the keeper before Oster got his second of the game with a left foot half-volley driven neatly in the corner.
Finally substitute Connor Everton got his first of the season with a great solo effort. After dribbling it between players he managed to get a shot off and find the back of the net!
A great win and performance for the Sunday lads who now look forward to hosting league leaders EMR next at Newlands Road!
