It’s back! Welford Victoria Football Club’s annual fundraising Family Fun Day returns, bigger and better than ever, on Saturday 20th July 2024. This year hosted in partnership with the Welford Sports Field Association, our event is raising funds for two charities, as well as to help us keep providing sport in the area.
FOOTBALL
- 10:00 Junior football tournament spanning three age groups (U7, U8 and U9)
- 14:30 Welford Victoria Veterans v Welford Victoria Legends (for the Jo Sutton Cup)
- 14:30 Welford Victoria v North Kilworth FC

- 60ft inflatable obstacle course
- U5s soft play area
- Face painting

- Games and activities
- Bar, BBQ, cakes and refreshments
- Gin and Fizz Bar
- Raffle

- Gates open at 10am.

FUNDRAISING
Last year we raised £1,875. We’d love to do better this year..
- 50% of the event proceeds will be shared between WVFC and WSFA, helping each organisation maintain the facilities at our Sports Field
- 25% will be donated to LOROS Hospice, Leicester – LOROS is a charity whose aim is to enhance the quality of life of adult patients with cancer, progressive neurological conditions and end-stage organ failure for whom curative treatment is no longer possible. We make this donation in memory of Jo Sutton-Larson, who sadly died last year following a lengthy battle with a very aggressive form of breast cancer. Jo founded and captained a Welford ladies team that played in the league for about 5-6 years and maintained links with the club in a number of ways.
- 25% will be donated to Evelina Children’s Charity. This is a charity close to the heart of the player-manager of the Veterans’ team, Jon Nottingham, whose young daughter Immie has been diagnosed with Opsoclonus Myoclonus Syndrome (OMS), a rare neurological autoimmune disorder that affects as few as one in ten million children.
